About

I suppose I first fell in love with Photography, whilst on holiday in 2011, whilst on the Isles Of Scilly. It was a holiday in which I truly came across, this new passion; as they do say the best camera is the one you have on you, at any moment, this indeed is true, my camera at the time was an old HTC Wildfire mobile phone, and was my first android phone. Yes the interface was clunky, and by today's standards, I really do not think it would win any real awards for photography, however back then it was a really nice device with a lovely camera. The shots I got with it; back then are the ones that hooked me onto and into the realms of photography.

I suppose back then, looking back in time, that 2011 is when my discovery of photography blossomed and grew. Photography itself is an art form and a form of communication. It is also very accessible to people from all backgrounds and there is a large style to suit everyone, from helping people to communicate to being used as an art form, photography can mean a lot to people.

It to me, is the creating a memory aspect that I like about photography, and through experimenting with camera settings and going true manual images can appear more alive, more investigative within the long run. To create a simple image needs a camera, it does not matter if that camera is your smart phone, and some apps for image manipulation, all the way to a big DSLR your camera that you have with you at the moment can create some amazing images, that will last a life time.

As technology progresses, more people are finding ways to utilize there camera and gear to create that special shot, that will hold a place in there heart, or in that of a loved one. It is not uncommon these days, for people to use there camera gear or the camera on a smartphone to create an award winning photograph, that when judged or gifted to that loved one, has a lasting impact on them. With a little bit of image manipulation, it is easy to make a photograph truly stunning, whether that be with an application on a mobile phone, to editing software on a PC or a Mac, it is possible to create a stunning memory that will last a lifetime.

Over the past six years, I and what ever camera I have had on me at the time, has been able to lead me on a discovery and to develop a unique style, and the styles of photography that I have come to love are.

  • Landscapes and Seascapes

  • Night and Low Light Photography

  • Experimental Photography

  • Cityscapes

  • Nature and Flowers

They are the styles that I like to take, but the important thing, is photography has no bounds, it is these bounds that photography does not have, which makes it a passion and one that can be taken to different levels; but the art of photography is the creation of a memory that can allow us to relive a moment in that special place. 28swphotography to me holds that moment of a special place, which is the Isles Of Scilly and it's raw beauty of being 28 miles off the coast of Lands End, I suppose it is the rawness of these islands and there sheer beauty which made me like the kinds of photography that I have come to like. Just think that photography is a blank canvas and the image is the painting that is going on the being painted by the artist, in this case the photographer.
